Description: Conspiracy theory research has exploded in the last five years. However, many questions remain about how best to measure beliefs in conspiracy theories. Joseph Uscinski will discuss the promises and pitfalls of various measurement methods, including surveys and content analysis.
Bio: Joseph Uscinski is Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami. He studies public opinion, with a focus on conspiracy theory beliefs. He is coauthor of American Conspiracy Theories (Oxford, 2014) and editor of Conspiracy Theories and the People Who Believe Them (Oxford, 2018). His textbook on conspiracy theories is Conspiracy Theories: A Primer.
