Research Design and Research Methods

Who It’s For: Researchers with a moderate understanding of qualitative methodologies who are looking to understand the reasoning behind why these methods are so widely used and modified in social research, and looking to elevate the quality of their paper by trying to get at “what makes good research.”
Why We Love It: The clear mix of personal opinions presented as the main framing of the paper allows readers to understand the very human impacts these methods have on the individuals participating in the research – unique as research methods are usually discussed in a clinical fashion. Gauging a personal reaction another researcher might have to “what makes good research” allows one to take a break from a strictly formal, academic way of thinking.
